Someone from Málaga who connects systems.
I'm José Azcona. I was born and raised in Málaga, to a father from San Sebastián and a mother from Málaga. That's where the mix comes from: doing the work properly, and enjoying it while you do.
I studied Computer Engineering at the University of Málaga. After finishing I prepared for the civil service exams, but curiosity won: I moved to London to get comfortable in English, and ended up settling in Madrid.
That's where I built my career, at some of the leading companies in the sector, working for well-known clients. Over the years I moved from writing code to running teams, starting initiatives and leading whole areas.
Today I work at the world's leading CRM company. My job is to connect a company's systems so that its data stops being scattered and starts being worth something. It's what I've been doing for nearly twenty years, now with AI agents too.
In 2024 I came home. I live in Málaga, close to the sea and to my family, and I keep building from here.
I've worked with leading companies and top-tier clients in the sector. The names, the specialisation and the certifications are on the experience page, in Spanish.
Experience →Sport and music.
Sport has always been there. I started with basketball and later competed in CrossFit at a high amateur level. Injuries taught me to see it differently: less performance at any cost, more lasting and feeling good for many years.
Since the pandemic I've played the guitar and sung. It started as a way out and it stayed.
I write about integration architecture, AI agents and how systems get governed once software starts making decisions. Some of it is in English.
